Can Anyone Help Me? – Herbs For Healthful Living

I am in a big search…  At a little fruit stand when we were in vacataion in Indiana last year… I bought this mix.  It is from Herbs For Healthful Living, and is called “Ice Box Dill Pickles”  Essentially it is a mix to make dill pickles.  This is the BEST mix I have ever tasted and now I can’t find anymore… I have looked everywhere online.  Does anyone frequent a shop that might sell this?  If so I would be very grateful if you would let me know and I will send you money to purchase some for me (along with shipping).  Please?  Pretty Please? You can e-mail me at christine at dinewithoutwhine dot com.  Thanks!

Christine

I’m not sure on canning them… I don’t think that recipe is meant for canning, but you could maybe email the company to find out.

I love this stuff. The pickles keep way longer than suggested just in the fridge. And the dills are wonderful. Here in the South we don’t get many takers for the Bread&Butter but they keep just as well. I’ll have an oppty this weekend to make some more of both because today a coworker gave me 20 homegrown cukes.

they sell it at The Old Mill in Gatlinburg, Tenn. for 3.99 I just made some actually and I was confused about the mix. It doesnt cover all the cucumbers and I followed the directions and i wasnt sure if that was just how it works or if I did something wrong.

The Rosemary House in Mechanicsburg, PA sells them.

I also just bought some Ice Box Bread & Butter Pickles mix at the old mill in gatlinburg when we were on vacation – best mix ever! Wish we had bought tons more! The receipes are definetly not meant for canning – and the idea is that they stay crispy for 3 months in the refrigerator. I am going to contact them today to buy both the bread & butter mix as well as the dill mix. Unbelievably delicious!

You don’t have to go through hoops to get their products. Go to kauffmansfruitfarm.com and find the mixes there. you can order online. They are made by Dutch Valley Foods. They have the exact duplicate ingredients of herbsforhealthfulliving’s mixes. Match their ingredients against what you bought from herbsforhealthfulliving and see for yourself!

Same mixes, same ingredients (exactly the same, in the same order). Easy online ordering!
