FromTheFarm.com

Filed under: Fun Places To Visit — christine @ 11:34 am

I found a new site today I wanted to share - www.fromthefarm.com  This looks like a great concept!  They offer fresh foods delivered directly from the farmer - organics are also available.  Their prices aren’t the best deal around, but aren’t terrible considering shipping is free.

Here is a few paragraphs taken from their “about us” page.

“For generations we have witnessed farmers in our community work and risk their livelihoods while struggling to survive. Fuel prices go up. So does water, utilities and wages. However, the price a farmer gets for his product at market has stayed constant for the past two decades!

Most of us, no matter what generation you are, come from a farm, and if you didn’t, your grandparents surely did. In today’s hectic world our choices for fresh food are slim – we have the local grocery store, but have no idea where it came from and as a trade off for the convenience of buying local, we end up compromising on taste.

Fromthefarm.com brings you back to the farm. With its technology, our state of the art website allows you to communicate and trade with farmers once again while purchasing the freshest and best tasting produce anywhere! It’s like being at the world’s largest farmers’ market – but conveniently online and it’s delivered right to your door! And best of all, you know exactly where your food comes from.

FromTheFarm.com is dedicated to making sure the farmer receives a fair profit for their product and that you, the consumer, receive the freshest, tastiest food right to your door at the best price. “

Check them out and let me know what you think!

HURRY! If you have a Jewel-Osco or Albertsons…

Filed under: Fun Places To Visit — christine @ 2:50 pm

I think today might be the last day, but I just had to share…

If you have a Jewel-Osco / Albetsons near you, don’t miss the sale this week! They have General Mills Cereal, different granola bars, Pop Secret microwave popcorn, and Betty Crocker Fruit Snacks for $1 each when you buy in quantities of 10 - mix and match.

We made the hour drive to our Jewel yesterday and picked up sale items along with some basic needs. In front of the cereal in the little blinkie machine there were coupons for $.75 off two boxes of cereal so that made our cereal $.67 a box! We ended up with 106 items for $115! Our total savings $198! Yea! What a good trip! Give it a try and let us know how much you save!

Spring Cleaning… Do You Love It or Hate It?

Filed under: Fun Places To Visit — christine @ 8:50 pm

Has spring arrived at your house yet?  The weather has been such a tease here!  One day we had 80 degrees, and now a couple days later it is freezing with a bit or snow.  My poor plants in the garden aren’t going to know what to think!    Opposed to planting the rest of my garden just yet.. I have decided to stay inside for a bit and get some spring cleaning done!   Yuck, I know not the most enjoyable task.  However, my friend Susanne, the Hillbilly Housewife, has put together a guide to make your spring cleaning quick, easy and maybe even enjoyable!   At least if you’re like me, you’ll enjoy the end results at least.  Head on over and check it out:
www.dinewithoutwhine.com/SpringClean

She walks you through cleaning your home room by room and she’s even included some great checklists to help you stay organized and on track.  Go take a peek and you’ll be done with your cleaning before you even know it!

What Can My Kids Help With in the Kitchen?

Filed under: Fun Places To Visit — christine @ 8:52 am

After the last post of the boys helping in the kitchen I had a few questions about exactly what kids can do in the kitchen to help.  I have answered a few questions privately, but one of our moms at Menu Planning Central sent me this link from Kraft Cooking By Age which is great!  So I thought I would share.  If you have your kids help out in the kitchen and you’ve done other things - please share in the comments below!
