Green Smoothies for Kids

Filed under: The Menu Mom Chit Chat — christine @ 9:45 pm

We’re smoothieaholics around here.  In fact, I have a whole other blog dedicated to smoothie recipes.   We generally have at least 1 smoothie a day.   I usually use fresh/frozen fruits & a bit of juice or milk.  The kids love it and it is a great way to add in extra fruits into their diet (and of course milk, as they don’t drink milk plain).

At any rate, at Sam’s Club tonight I bought a huge container or organic spinach!  And guess where that is going?  Yup, straight into their smoothies….  We’re going to try green smoothies!  Think they will drink it?

For green smoothies, you take a couple cups of greens such as spinach or kale, add some fruit, water & ice (if desired) & blend.  I’m thinking frozen strawberries & spinach for tomorrow.  We’ll see how it goes!

Have you tried green smoothies with your kids?  What did they think?

On a final note, I highly recommend the Vita-Mix blender!  Here’s why.  If you ever do choose to order one, you can receive free shipping (a $25 value) by using code:  06-001694
