Grilled Apple Crisp
S’mores are the favorite dessert on a night we grill. I think my family thinks it will always happen so they were surprised when I was doing something different!
As I was cutting the apples and my husband was at the grill they walked into the kitchen and asked what I was making. Dessert – cooked on the grill! They were curious, but it was delicious!
This is the dish before I sealed it up for the grill. Looks so yummy! I used a double thickness of foil on the bottom, but only one piece for the top to seal the sides.
We put it on once dinner came off the grill. Once we were done eating and the dishes were cleared, dessert was ready! Hope your family enjoys as much as mine… oh, you might want to grab some vanilla ice cream. It certainly would put this dish over the top!
Grilled Apple Crisp
- 10 cups thinly sliced apples {I used 8 apples}
- 1 cup dry old fashioned oats
- 1 cup packed brown sugar
- 1/4 cup flour
- 3 tsp. cinnamon
- half a stick {1/4 cup} butter, cold
Spread apple slices over a double thickness of heavy duty foil, approximately 12 x 24″.
In small bowl, combine oats, brown sugar, flour, and cinnamon. Cut in butter until mixture is crumbly {I used my fingers… so much easier than a fork}. Sprinkle over apples.
Add another piece of foil to top and seal the mixture tightly on all sides. Grill over medium heat for 20-25 minutes, or until apples are tender.

This sounds really good. I love anything with apples. That is the best part about September is all the apple recipes. I am looking forward to pumpkin next.
God Bless and have a wonderful day.
Sounds YUMMY! Will be trying that this week.
I love making this dish, especially around Thanksgiving time. It is so easy and smells wonderful too.
Oh, yes. I love these fall apple recipes.
I can’t wait to try this! I love apple crisp and have cooked apples on the grill, but I never would have thought about making apple crisp on the grill.
