Grocery Assistance – Great Program!

If you or someone you know could use a little help paying for groceries…. I found an awesome resource today. http://www.angelfoodministries.org/ This organization sells a big box of food for $25 (and it’s good restaurant quality stuff) and then you can add on larger meat pacakges for a reasonable price as well. (I think it was in the $17-$19 range for quite a few pounds of meat) You do not have to qualify with a specific income level or anything like that, and they do also accept food stamps if needed. You can do a search to see if there is a church in your area that provides the service. We live in the middle of no where and there is one within a half an hour, so hopefully there is one near you as well.

We have taken advantage of Angel Food Ministries for about 6 months now. It really is a help, especially in a world of rising prices and stationary earnings. I have a family of six and we usually purchase 2-3 boxes of food per month and always have food left over. In fact, this month, we skipped buying because the deep freeze is still full of food. It has lowered our food bill tremendously. We used to use food stamps and were alotted about $500 per month to buy food. We no longer have the food stamps, and only have to spend about $250 per month to buy all of our food. We still have to visit the grocery store for bread, butter, milk, cereal, etc, but the trips to the grocery store are now limited and only take about 30 minutes. It saves a family money and time. I would encourage EVERYONE to look into the Angel Food program.
Thanks for the information.
Thanks for the information.
My family and I just started using this program this month. So far very satisfied with the quantity and quality of what is offered for our budget.
