Have Potatoes? Let’s Make Dinner!

The US Potato Board recently contacted me.  They know that economic times are hard and families may be forced to make cutbacks to their budgets, but there is one thing no family should have to sacrifice—nutrition. In order help parents provide nutritious food for their families, the US Potato Board created www.MomsDinnerHelper.com, an online recipe resource and blog.

According to the US Potato Board, potatoes are one of the least expensive items in the produce department, and one of the most nutritious. In fact, in most places you can still get potatoes for less than 25 cents a spud – and with only 110 calories in a medium potato that’s naturally fat-, sodium- and cholesterol- free, the tater can’t be beat!

On www.MomsDinnerHelper.com, you can find:

Additional recipes and dinnertime tips
Nutrition information
Opportunities to share your own recipes, comment and rate recipes to win prizes
“Tater Talk” – A blog about everything from parenting to potatoes

  1. Meredith says:

First of all, Christine, congratulations on your beautiful baby girl. Babies are such blessings! Another little soul to nourish with wisdom and love.

Secondly, this is Meredith from MomsDinnerHelper.com. Thank you so much for mentioning the site. I hope all the savvy moms reading your blog (and your other awesome sites) will take a moment to visit us for some fantastic potato recipes and to talk about food and family.

It’s quite fitting that my next posting is about menu planning and how you can enure “Nutrition on a Budget” when you organize your meals. (Hope you don’t mind, but I’m going to quote some of your advice, Christine!)

    Cheers!
