Is Your Child Worth an Hour of Your Time?

38.5 Minutes

  – 38.5 minutes – This is the amount of time the average American parent spends in meaningful conversation with their child each WEEK…According to the A.C. Nelson Co. I hope that number frightens you a little bit.

Today I ask you…  are you willing to pledge 1 hour to spend quality time with your child?  Sure, you probably aren’t going to just sit down on the couch and talk to your child for an hour… but you certainly could spend an hour with them and incorporate some quality conversation couldn’t you?  Here are some ideas to get you started:

- Make cookies together
- Go for a walk
- Enjoy dinner with the whole family around the dinner table – Let the Family Dinner Video inspire you
- Work on a School Project Together
- Make Christmas Cards/Gifts Together
- Go Out for Hot Cocoa
- Go for a drive (You’d be surprised how much conversation can happen if the radio is on low or off)

SHARE YOUR IDEAS IN THE COMMENTS!

Frigidaire is currently running a campaign for us to use the extra hour we gain on November 1st to be purposeful and spend that extra hour with our children.  When you pledge to spend an hour with your child, Frigidaire will donate $1 to Save the Children’s U.S. Programs. And you will be entered for a chance to win a new Frigidaire Professional double wall oven.  (how cool would that be!?!)

This is super simple to do.  All you need to do is enter in how you plan to spend time with your child and the donation will be made & you will be entered.  Good luck & remember – share your ideas in the comments area for everyone to gain from!
