Waffle Sandwiches & Mangosteen Peach Tea

Lunch time at our house is often just myself. A couple times a week my 3 year old or my husband will join me – but often times they are not home at lunch time. Often this means I just grab a yogurt or some fruit and keep on working. However, once in awhile it is nice to actually make up a quick easy lunch to enjoy!
On this particular day I had in my hands 3 new flavors of Lipton Green Tea Superfruits – White Mangosteen & Peach, Red Gogi & Raspberry, and Purple Acai & Blueberry. The goal was to come up with something perfect to pair with a nice cup of tea.

I was in the mood for a panini, but we don’t have a panini grill. (Maybe someday!) Instead I pulled out the waffle maker…

And made a waffle sandwich! This time I used lightly buttered whole wheat bread from our local health food store bakery (so much better than the preservative packed loaf from the grocery store), oven roasted chicken, sliced mozzarella, lettuce & tomato. (I would have loved a slice or two of bacon too, but I was too lazy to cook it). You could also put on mayo., mustard, or any condiment of your choice. I left that off this time too. It turned out really delicious – nice and crisp with a fun texture!

I prefer iced tea over hot tea. I popped the tea bag into my glass and brewed hot water from my Keurig into the glass. (Then I went and took a shower while it was seeping
) I came back and added a bit of stevia and ice. I ended up with the perfect cup of iced tea to go along with my waffle sandwich and apple slices. A perfect easy lunch!
The new Lipton teas have a nice springy fruity flavor! If you are a tea drinker, make sure to give them a try!

I love tea! All kinds of tea!
I love tea!!! Any kind of tea. I usually enjoy my first cup at about 5am everyday along with a cozy blanket and my favorite show on netflix. I have not found a tea that I didn’t like!!!
I would also like to mention that your waffle sandwich idea is awesome!!! I believe we will be trying them real soon!!!
Thank you for all your knowledge and you wonderful recipes! Keep up the great work!!
I love ice tea!! I mainly drink hot tea in the cold months with a little honey, it is delish. I prefer to have to @ lunch more than supper because it can be a little sweet.
I drink a cup of hot brewed tea for breakfast, especially during the winter months. I love hot tea sweetened with orange blossom honey. Hot tea is very good with biscotti for a snack. I drink iced tea all year round with meals and as a thirst-quenching beverage.
I love to drink chai tea, especially chai latte. I have been drinking a flavor called Coconut Thai Chai and it is very tasty in the morning, hot in my reusable paper cup mug. On a cool morning it tastes so good! I also love fruit tea and like your idea of trying it iced, I got a sample of some Lipton tea in the mail the other day and need to try it!
Thanks!
We always have a pitcher of tea in our house. I love it iced and sweetened, but buy different flavors to liven it up. My kids love it too so I often have to try and find Decaf. I will drink it hot in teh morning, but at those times I really like it plain, no sugar. That with my oatmeal, yum, yum.
I love these new teas. They are bursting with fresh fruit flavor and have an amazing aroma. Enjoy!
I drink green tea in the morning – hot during the winter, and iced during summer. Just plain, no sweetener.
I always make Indian tea with milk, ginger and mint.
I like my tea hot or cold. Hot tea I usually take without sugar or milk, but when I make Chai tea, I use almond milk and sugar. I heat the milk in the microwave and steep the tea in it. I particularily like mint tea when making iced tea – tastes really great.
I love the flavored green teas! I bodybuild and they are great way to change flavor without calories and control hunger all at same time! Wish I could try the sandwich!
We have found a new appreciation for tea. We have had colds and our son had
bronchitis. Tea just sounded good. Our son likes blueberry/pomegranate white tea. I enjoy peach tea. We usually use honey in ours as the sweetener, if we sweeten it at all. Love it!
I love unsweetened ice tea plain and made with different flavored tea bags
My husband and I are trying to lose weight and have been drinking green tea every night. It’s really nice to share a little quiet moment with him (we are blessed with four boys
He likes his tea SWEET. I just like tea.
