CONGRATULATIONS TO LESLII - You WIN!
I was recently sent two bottles of “Country Bob’s All Purpose Sauce” for review. Has anyone else tried it? It is made in my state, Illinois, and they claim it is great on Steak, Hamburger, Chicken, Fries, & BBQ.
Here’s a brief history of the sauce:
“In 1968 Country Bob Edson perfected the sauce of his dreams. After years of giving the sauce to friends and family he began to sell it in 1977. The reaction was overwhelming just as it is today. People who try Country Bob’s All Purpose Sauce become lifelong users. And why not, it is the perfect compleent to practically any meal set on your table.”
We broke open a bottle and gave it a try on our steaks the other night. It reminded me a bit of steak sauce - Say A1 sauce, but sweeter. It was a bit runny/thin for our tastes (and I’m not a huge steak sauce fan in the first place) but my hubby seemed to enjoy it. The taste kind of reminded me of the sauce in baked beans. So if you love baked beans, you may love this! I have also heard great reviews of using the sauce within recipes, which I haven’t tried yet. I see they have some recipes on their site to try.
Anyway, I have an extra bottle I am ready to give away. If you are interested in winning a bottle to try, enter a comment below before Sept. 14th. You can receive an extra entry by blogging about the contest on your blog and leaving a link to your post in the comments below. Good Luck!

I just found a really fun site! It is called Paper Back Swap (but they do hardbacks and audio books too). If you look on the right and scroll down you will see a blue banner there that you can click to learn all about it yourself. Esentially you list 10 books that you are willing to part with, and you get two free credits to start you out and then every time someone “purchases” one of your books you receive another credit to “buy” a book. You have to ship your books out that are “for sale” obviously, and then when you “buy” books the person “selling” them ships them to you for free. This would be a great way to pick up some or swap out some cookbooks too!
Have fun!

Okay, so I admit… I took a few (yes, not just one) cake decorating classes awhile back when I first got married. I thought it would be such a fun hobby. Well… Needless to say I think I sold all my supplies in a garage sale as I failed miserably when it came to my skills.
However, I just read a review at www.amomsreview.com about these really cool new cake kits that actually look do-able! The best part is they are giving away 10 kits free! Go here to learn more and enter: http://www.amomsreview.com/2008/08/20/cakes-by-me-make-professional-looking-cakes-at-home-a-contest/#comment-45968
Good Luck!

I know some of you are thinking what the heck is she talking about? Well, there is an application called Twitter that allows you to update what you are currently doing as well as keep track of what your friends/family are doing. It is just simple one liners that quickly gives an update. I have had friends asking me for almost a year to join and I just didn’t bite the bullet. Finally I gave in.
Anyway, if you scroll down a bit, on the right you will see a burgandy box that says “what am I doing”. That is my twitter box. You can keep even more up to date on my day to day crazy life if you feel so inclined. And… if you already have a Twitter account (or want to open one - it is free) you can follow me on there as well (and I can in turn follow you!). See the little link on the bottom of my twitter box to head to the site.
Fun times! We’ll see how good I do at keeping it up to date.

I was doing some research for another project and found this site: http://www.parents.com/recipes/cooking/kid-friendly-food/best-family-restaurants/ They highlight some of the best family friendly restaurants around. A few of them I had never heard of before, but others are also our favorites. What is your family’s favorite restaurant? My boys love buffets - they get to pick what they want and eat as much or as little as they’d like. They also don’t have to wait for their food -which is a big plus!

Do you remember CW Post cereal? I grew up eating it periodically and it was one of my favorites. Of course one day it disappeared from the store shelves - guess it wasn’t as popular as they had hoped. As an adult the closest I had ever found was the little clusters in Honey Bunches of Oats (by Post). When Honey Bunches of Oats came out it became one of my favorites (now I love the new peach flavor!) Anyway… So what has Post finally came out with? Just Bunches! I am pretty sure this is just about he same thing as my original CW Post. I am delighted to have one of my favorite Childhood cereals back! How about you… is there a cereal you miss from days past? Have you tried the new Just Bunches? If so, what do you think?
