Sylvania Halogen LIght Bulbs

Have you heard that traditional incandescent light bulbs are being phased out under the Federal Government’s Energy Independence and Security Act of 2007?  Within the next couple of years you will not even by able to buy the traditional bulbs we grew up with.

Our family has personally switched over to florescent bulbs recently, as the incandescent ones seemed to be burning out sooner and sooner and frankly we were getting tired of replacing light bulbs constantly!

I appreciate that the swirly florescent bulbs use less energy, but I do find a couple things annoying about them.  1.) They are a bit bigger, so they do not fit in some of our ceiling fixtures.  2.)  When I want light, I want light.  I hate waiting the 10 minutes for the bulb to warm up and actually give me some good light.

I recently had the opportunity to try out the new Sylvania Super Saver Soft White light bulbs.  I must say I am quite impressed!

With the traditional bulb shape and dimmable features, these bulbs can also fit easily into pre-existing accent lights, track lights, or other fixtures, making them a great transition light bulb.  These bulbs also turn on immediately, which I really like.  I am curious how long they will last compared to the florescent bulbs.  I guess only time will tell!

At any rate, I am pretty excited about these bulbs and I look forward to purchasing more in the future!
