We’re Not “Just Fine”

kids treats I just read this blog post, and I couldn’t agree more!  It is so easy for me to think – “oh it is just Easter, Christmas, someone’s Birthday – just one treat won’t hurt…”  We personally don’t tell our kids they can’t have treats other places; but I am trying to limit more and more what treats we have at home!  Grant it, we’re not perfect and I think there are times and places for treats.  However, I also believe it should be, just that, “a treat” not the norm.

I will admit, I am a huge sugaraholic!  My big problem is when I have even a little bit of sugar one day, I crave it for days afterwards!

What are your thoughts?  Do you have regular desserts and treats at home?  Are you personally a “treat-o-holic?”  Are you concerned about the potential health problems related to the processed foods and pounds of sugar you may consume each year?

The fun thing is: if you quit sugar for 3 solids weeks, YOU WON”T CRAVE IT. it took me 2 weeks to drop it then 3 weeks to hold it. And for 5 more weeks, I didn’t crave it. (then I got pregnant, everything was off and running! ;)

If you limit your grains, also, you will not crave as much. Keeping It Real is a great blog to check out for these thoughts…
